Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here to show you how to create a Bowdabra altered notebook. The Bowdabra altered notebook makes a great end of the year gift for teachers, graduates and more. And if you are looking for a great Father’s Day gift just change the colors of the ribbon (mustache print is perfect) to a more masculine style!
Supplies:
Large Bowdabra Bow Making Tool
Bowdabra Bow Wire – Gold
Assorted scraps of ribbon
Beacon Adhesive
Cardstock
Pattern Paper
Using the Large Bowdabra Bow Making Tool, place the gold wire in the channel, folding it underneath the Bowdabra while you work.
Center an 18″ length of cranberry ribbon in the Bowdabra. Using scraps of assorted sized and types of ribbon create a bow as follows. Starting with the pink and brown dotted ribbon, create a 2 looped bow. Add a strip of sheer ribbon in the channel, then a strip of striped ribbon. Finally, using pink ribbon, create a 2 looped bow.
Pull up on the bow wire and release the bow. Tie off and twist the bow wire to the front of the bow and twirl the wire around a pencil.
Decorate a notebook with pattern paper and cardstock. Add tabs to the pages to use as dividers for the months of the year. Print “dates to remember”, mat with cardstock and adhere to the notebook.
Wrap the cranberry ribbon around the notebook. Use Beacon Adhesives to adhere the bow to the notebook.
This is a great way to upcycle a notebook using all the scraps of ribbon you have.
