Fun and funky patriotic scarf
Now, we’re going to make this really fun and funky patriotic scarf. So, the first thing that I’m going to do is fold my Bowdabra Bow Wire in half. Then, I’m going to thread my ring onto it, and this is just something we had laying around. So, any hoop will work. Then, I’m going to just lie that down into the Bowdabra, and I’m going to tuck everything underneath. So, the ring’s just tucked right under there.
And for those of you who aren’t familiar with the Bowdabra, we have springs underneath here. So, all I do is it’s going to automatically adjust as I put everything into the Bowdabra.
So, the first thing that I’m going to do is take my mesh. I’m just going to lie that down into my Bowdabra. Then I’m going to take my silver, blue, and red tubular mesh. Now I’m using tubular mesh, but you can use ribbon, anything that you want. Next, I’m taking our Bowdabra Scrunchy Ribbon and I’m just going to scrunch that down into the Bowdabra.
Now, I’m going to take this little netting that I have, and I’ve already dovetailed the ends. (And basically, for dovetailing, all you’re going to do is fold your ribbon in half and then just cut from the ends into the fold.) Then, I’m going to put this down in here.
Add the tulle
Next, I’m going to take my star tulle, which I really like because the stars don’t rub out. And we have a lot of this type of tulle available on our website. And, I’m going to just for good measure, scrunch everything down into the Bowdabra.
I’m going to take this and I’m going to pull my Bowdabra Bow Wire through my slipknot and pull it really tight, and just leave this over here. I’m not going to take it out of my Bowdabra yet. What I’m going to do now is I’m going to loosely braid.
Take some more Bowdabra Bow Wire, just kind of fold it in half, pull this through my slipknot, pull it around, and I want to make sure that I have everything tied in. Finally, I’m just going to knot it. Now this one I have short. I also have a longer finished one.
Finishing your scarf
To finish, I’m going to hold this tight while it’s still in the Bowdabra, pull it out, and separate the ends. I move my ring to the back, and you’ll see why in a minute. So, my ring’s going to be on the back because you’re not really going to see it. And I’m going to take the one that I’ve already finished because it’s a little bit longer, and I’m just going to take the ends here. And now you have this really adorable and kind of funky scarf.
