Wondering how to make some fun bows for St Patrick’s Day?
Watch Sandy Sandler, Creator of the Bowdabra, create the most amazing funky bows and projects with the Bowdabra, the world’s easiest bowmaking and design tool in her first Facebook Live for the month of March which is also the #NationalCraftMonth.
FUN BOW
Sandy starts off with a wide, green ribbon, which has glitters on one side and is dovetailed at the ends. Once the Bowdabra Bow Wire is folded into half and put in the Bowdabra, she tucks the ribbon into the Large Bowdabra Bowmaker with a little crease in the middle. She starts folding and twisting the ribbon and putting it into the Bowdabra with the wrong side of the ribbon folded in the inner side of each loop.
The last loop is kept at half the size of the outer loops and once everything in scrunched in, she pulls out the bow after slipping the free end of the Bow Wire through the slip knot. Securely tied, she fluffs up the bow into shape and we have an attractive St Patrick’s day bow in minutes!
FUNKY ST PATRICK’S DAY HEADBAND
Sandy takes a headband, puts it into the Mini Bowdabra and adds some scraps of ribbon to it, tied up with the Bowdabra Bow Wire.
Next she takes a piece of green pipe cleaner and twists it around a chopstick to make it stand out like an antenna! With a piece of cool silver ribbon that looks meshy and funky, makes a quick little bow and ties it up with the pipe cleaner. The little silver bow is further dressed up with a piece of green ribbon wrapped around its middle and stuck with a glue dot.
FUN PROJECT FOR BRIDAL SHOWER
Now this is something perfect for the bridal shower or the bridesmaids can make these for themselves and wear for the wedding day or even after the wedding.
Sandy puts her green bracelet in the Mini Bowdabra and adds pieces of dovetailed ribbons on top of it. She mashes up all the scraps of ribbons she has and adds some green beads to the arrangement. Tied up with the Bow Wire, it turns out to be a stunning and funky bracelet which is surprisingly inexpensive as it is crafted out of scraps!
FUN ST PATRICK’S DAY GREETING CARD
With a piece of gold scrunchy ribbon stuck on a card to form a gold frame and a nice picture sheet encased within, Sandy prepares the base for a beautiful card. She adds a black and gold half moon shaped belt, which looks like a pot, topped with a bit of a gold mesh ribbon and a rainbow colored ribbon. Taking thin strips of gold scrunchy ribbon, she quickly creates 3 tiny gold bows to fill up her pot of gold on the greeting card!
FUN DECORATIVE BOW FOR ST PATRICK’S DAY
Sandy’s last project for the evening is a large meshy ribbon scrunched into the Large Bowdabra and topped it up with a green, glittery ribbon she used in the first project this evening. She adds a handmade 4-leaf clover created out of pipe cleaners to turn out a huge and rather cute decorative bow.
