Having a New Year’s Eve Bash this year? How about creating a festive bow centerpiece for that special occasion? Arrange a bouquet of bows made with your Bowdabra on top of a cake stand and fill in with the new year’s numbers! You are sure to wow your guests with this very festive bow centerpiece decoration! Here’s how:
Materials needed:
• Ribbon – 5″ and 2″ wide – 10+ Yds.
• Bowdabra
• Bowdabra Bow Wire and Wand
• Styrofoam
• Proxxon Hot Wire Cutter
• Cake stand
• New Year Numbers
• Hot Glue
Let’s begin by cutting an 18″ piece of Bowdabra Bow Wire, folding in half and placing in the Bowdabra, tucking ends under. We will be making a very large, fluffy bow with eight-inch long loops on each side. The first ribbon used is five inches wide and almost six yards long. Crease the end of the five-inch wide ribbon and place print side down into the Bowdabra.
To make the first loop, make a fold at the eight-inch length mark and twist the ribbon and press into the Bowdabra.
Next, fold and twist the other side at the same eight-inch length, creasing down into the Bowdabra.
Continue, folding and twisting loops on each side, down into the Bowdabra until you use all of the ribbon.
Scrunch down loops with the Bowdabra Wand.
Next, crease the end of the smaller width ribbon and place down into the Bowdabra, on top of the five-inch ribbon loops.
Fold and twist ribbon loops, same as before, making 12, eight inch long loops on each side. Be sure to scrunch down the ribbon as you make more loops.Once you have made 12 loops on each side, end by making a smaller loop, cutting off excess ribbon and creasing end down into the Bowdabra. Scrunch down all loops with the Bowdabra wand.
Finishing your festive bow centerpiece
While the bow is still in the Bowdabra, thread the loose ends of the bow wire through the loop and pull tightly, while gently pulling the bow out. Take the wire around to the back of the bow and tie in a double knot.
Fluff and straighten bow loops!
Next, cut out a Styrofoam circle using the Proxxon Hot Wire Cutter to fit the cake stand.
Hot glue the Styrofoam circle onto the top of the cake stand, then hot glue the bow onto the Styrofoam, centering.
Insert the new year’s numbers into the center of the bow, down into the Styrofoam. And celebrate the new year with a very festive bow centerpiece!
