Do you have a little girl on your gift list? This adorable hair bow is the perfect last minute gift. It takes only moments to make—just follow these easy instructions.
After cutting your lengths of ribbon, quickly pass the cut end through a flame to seal the edges and prevent fraying and raveling.
Begin constructing the hair bow by folding the bow wire in half and sliding it into the Mini Bowdabra.
Next, place a glue dot on the right side of the Shopkins grosgrain ribbon near one end.
Place the wrong side of the opposite end of the grosgrain ribbon on top of the glue dot. You’ll have a circle of ribbon with the right side on the outside.
Insert this ribbon loop into the Mini Bowdabra with the seam on the bottom and the glue dot centered in the Mini Bowdabra.
Next, feed the length of tulle into the Mini Bowdabra, and press in firmly in place with the Bowdabra wand.
Secure the bow wire by passing the loose ends through the loop, and pulling to tighten the slip knot around the ribbon and tulle.
Capture the satin ribbon in the hair clip, centering it in place. I’ve found that it is easier to handle if you close the hair clip after the ribbon is in place.
Position the hair clip on the back of the bow, and bring the ends to the front of the hair bow. Tie a simple knot
Bring the ends of the bow wire to the right side of the bow, and tie in a simple knot. Wrap the bow wire around a skewer or thin pencil to create coiled tendrils.
The hardest part about this bow is waiting to see your special little girl wearing it.
