I love to include poinsettias as part of my holiday decorations. When I got these plants home, I found it impossible to remove the tacky price stickers. No problems. Bowdabra to the rescue!! I created these gorgeous holiday bows to cover and camouflage those pesky stickers.
Chic Holiday Bows
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 18″ to 20″ Bowdabra bow wire
- 54″ of 2½” wide wired ribbon
- Bowdabra
- Skewer or thin pencil
- Hot glue
Begin by placing the folded piece of bow wire into the Bowdabra. You can tuck the ends of the wire under the Bowdabra so they are not in your way as you create to bow.
Dovetail the beginning end of ribbon by folding the ribbon in half lengthwise and cutting a diagonal.
Next, make a three loop bow. Each of the loops measures about 3½” from the center of the Bowdabra to the fold in the loop.
I like to coil the ends of the Bowdabra bow wire to create an additional design element. I’ve wrapped the bow wire around the skewer, because I wanted a tight coils. You could also a pen, pencil, or dowel rod depending upon the size of the coil you want.
The finished bow is the perfect addition to my poinsettias!! No more visible tacky stickers.
I used hot glue to adhere the bows to the poinsettia pots, covering the unsightly price stickers. The bows really add pizzazz to these poinsettias.
