Here’s an awesome idea to dress up drab holiday gift wrapping by making an adorable reindeer bow gift topper using your Mini Bowdabra! It’s an easy and simple creation that makes the giving extra special!
Here’s how:
Gather
38″ of 1.5″ grosgrain ribbon
20″ of 2.5 burlap ribbon
10″ of 5/8″ ribbon
Mini Bowdabra Tool and Ruler, Bow Wire, Wand
Proxxon Hot Wire Cutter
Googly eyes
Pom pom
Antlers pattern
Hot glue gun
Mod podge
Scissors
Start by cutting two, 12″ and one 14″ ribbon strips using the Proxxon hot wire cutter. The Proxxon easily cuts and seals ribbon at the same time – that’s why I love using it!
Next, cut an 18″ piece of bow wire, fold in half and place in the Mini Bowdabra, tucking ends under. Then take the end of a 12″ ribbon strip, pinching the sides together into a crease and press into the Mini Bowdabra.
Take the other ribbon end and loop above the Mini Bowdabra tower, pinching the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra. Use the ruler to position the loops evenly at the 2 inch mark on both sides.
Pinch center sides in and push center down into the Mini Bowdabra.
Scrunch down the ribbon with the Mini Bowdabra Wand.
Thread the loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling tightly and out of the Mini Bowdabra. Tie the wire around to the back, knot and cut off excess wire.
Make a matching bow with the other ribbon strip.
Make a third Bowdabra bow using the 14″ ribbon strip.
Hot glue the two matching 12″ bows on top of the 14″ bow, as pictured.
Glue on googly eyes and a pom pom for nose.
Fold ten inch strips of burlap ribbon and cut out two sets of antlers.
For each set, apply mod podge on one side of antlers, press together and let dry.
Hot glue the antlers on back of the loops, as pictured.
Cut the 10″ strip of 5/8″ ribbon in half and make two small bows with 1″ loops using the Mini Bowdabra. Glue on at the base of the antlers.
Now attach this adorable Bowdabra Reindeer Bow to the top of a wrapped package for an amazing look and an awesome wow factor for holiday gift giving!
And be sure to tell the recipient that once their present has been opened, this quirky gift topper can be used as a hair accessory – just by attaching a hair clip, barrette or ponytail holder!
