Hi everyone! Tammy Santana here today with a fun football cheer bow tutorial. My daughter recently made the spirit squad at her school so I have had lots of practice making cheer bows lately. This football cheer bow is my favorite so far because of the fun football ribbon I used. This is how I made it…
Supplies:
Mini Bowdabra
Bowdabra Wire
Ribbon
Aleene’s adhesive fabric tape
Fire source
Pony holder
Directions:
Place Bowdabra Hair Bow Tool on top of the Mini Bowdabra. Place Bowdabra wire inside of the center of the unit, and wrap around the edges to keep out of place.
Cut two equal pieces of coordinating ribbon about 18″ long and heat seal the ends.
Add adhesive fabric to the back of the decorative ribbon and place on top of the wider ribbon.
Fold in half and pinch the center to create a crease.
Bring ends to the crease in the center.
Pinch the middle.
Place inside the Mini Bowdabra as shown making sure the sides are even with the ruler.
Take 3 more coordinating ribbons (about 18 inches in length) and apply the adhesive fabric tape to the center of the wider ribbon and place the coordinating ribbons on top. Trim and heat seal the ends.
For my bow, I left a tiny bit of space on the adhesive between the two ribbons so I could add additional Bowdabra wire as a decorative element.
Pinch the center of the tails and add to the Bowdabra just below the loop bow as shown. Check to make sure the tails are even.
Pull the wire into a slip knot and tie into a double knot. For my bow, I wrapped the wire around the center several times as an embellishment and tied a double knot.
If you like the tails to touch you can add some additional adhesive fabric tape at the top and bring them together.
Tie the Bowdabra wire into a double knot around a pony holder and clip off any additional wire.
That’s it! You have yourself a really cute football themed cheer bow. The addition of the adhesive fabric tape stiffens the bow and makes it look really nice. I hope this gives you some ideas on how to use your Mini Bowdabra to make cheer bows for your cheerleader :)
