Instructions:
We’re going to make a loopy figure eight hair bow, but with a little bit of a twist. And we’ll call it our loopy figure eight hair bow. It’s really fun. And so what I’m going to do is, take my Mini Bowdabra, put my Hair Bow Tool and Ruler over my Mini Bowdabra. And then I take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, which I have it folded in half, and I’m just going to tuck it underneath so it stays out of my way.
Now I have this really nice, thin ribbon. It’s wired, which I like because it allows me to have fun shaping this. So I’m just going to make my loops. Now what makes this different is I’m going to keep the same side of the ribbon up. So it’s like I’m doing a figure 8. So again, I’m keeping this side of the ribbon inside of the loop, so I’m running it back around.
Actually, I’m going to make this about 2 inches to 2 1/4 inches. So again, I’m just going to have the inside of my loop so that same ribbon’s up. Then, I’m going to fold that back in here. And I’m going to do the same thing coming back, so the same side of the ribbon is up here, 2 1/4 inches, and bring it back.
Again, we’re going to keep doing this so we have the same ribbon on the inside, and bring it back. We want the ribbon to come the same on the inside. So it’s just you’re getting your loop, but you have what we call our figure 8. Now, it’s the same on the inside. Bring it through. Next, we need to keep that same ribbon with the same side up, bringing it back around. I’m going to keep doing this. This way it gives a really neat texture to your loops. I’m going to just finish that there.
Now I’m going to take my next ribbon, and I’m going to do exactly the same thing. So I’m going to put this down in here. And this ribbon is two-sided ribbon, which you need if you’re going to do this kind of bow. So now I’m just going to make these loops a little bit smaller. I’m just going to bring them back in.
The key to this is to remember to keep the same side up. Do this again here, keeping the same side up, bringing it back, doing my figure 8 and keeping the same side of the ribbon up. And then I come back through and do exactly the same thing. The same side of my ribbon is up. Do exactly the same thing back. And again, making sure that that ribbon, the same side is up, looping it back. Then, we can do one more loop here. Next, I’m going to take this ribbon and do exactly the same thing, keeping the same side of my ribbon up. So essentially we’re just doing figure 8’s.
So we go back here, working it back, again, making sure. I’m just going to take my wand and scrunch all my ribbon so it stays down in there. And again, just bring this back here. It gives you that really cool look, and it’s so easy to do in your Mini Bowdabra.
I’m just going to scrunch this down in here, take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, bring this through, pull it really tight, bring it out, separate the ends, bring them around to the back. And I’m going to tie it off. Finally, I’m going to knot it.
Then what I’m going to do is tie it onto my clip, and I’m going to bring it through from the back, and I’m going to tie a knot here. I’m just going to bring that up there. And then in order for it not to slide, I’m going to bring it around the back and then bring it around here. So I’m almost doing a figure 8 again. Bring it back through the middle; bring it around here one more time. And then I’m going to go one more time around the end. So that way my hair bows going to stay where it’s supposed to, on my barrette. I’m just going to tie a knot.
Okay. And then I’m going to clip that. Now the next thing that I’m going to do, because I’m not totally worried about this, is I’m going to take this ribbon here and put a little bit of glue right on top of it. And I’m going to put that right here onto my clip. And I’m going to bring it around so it covers up my wire. Bring the ribbon back through the clip being careful not to burn your fingers. So I’m going to pull it tight and glue that down. Now your bow is covered and everything is glued. We just fluff it, and you have an absolutely adorable loopy bow.
