She sears the salmon and then finishes it under the broiler for maximum color and flavor! The sauce uses ingredients your probably already have on hand so it’s thrifty as well as delicious.

Asian salmon and noodle recipe
Ingredients
- Noodles Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon Canola oil
- 2 teaspoons margarine (I use Smart Balance)
- 1/2 cup yellow onions, sliced
- 2 cloves raw garlic, 1 clove roasted garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 Tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup vegetable stock (I use homemade)
- 1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
- 4 ounces baby portobello mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup snow peas, ends trimmed
- 10 asparagus spears, hard ends removed, sliced at an angle (French style)
- 4 ounces Fettucini
- Salmon Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon Canola oil
- 2 6-ounce salmon steaks
- salt & pepper
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
- Prepare Noodles & Vegetables
- Cook fettucini according to box directions, in pot of boiling, salted water
- Heat margarine in medium skillet. Add onions and cook, over medium-low heat, until soft and light golden brown. Remove and set aside
- Next add canola oil to skillet, and turn heat to medium
- Then, add garlic to skillet, saute for 1 minute until fragrant
- Add asparagus and saute for about 7 minutes
- Add snow peas and mushrooms, and cook for another 5 minutes
- Finally add onions, soy sauce, honey, vegetable broth, Sriracha. Mix everything well to combine
- Prepare Salmon
- Preheat broiler.
- Season salmon generously with salt & pepper
- Heat large skillet on high heat. Add oil to skillet, and when it’s sizzling, add salmon to the skillet
- Sear salmon for 4 minutes. When salmon releases easily from the skillet, turn over salmon and sear for another 4 minutes
- Mix honey & soy sauce together. Brush top of salmon with mixture
- Place salmon under broiler for 3 minutes. If desired, brush more sauce on salmon halfway through
- Keep an eye on the salmon to make sure it does not burn
- Portion pasta and vegetables into bowls. Top with salmon and sesame seeds
