I saw this really cool project from one of our Bowdabra designers, where we upcycle a toilet paper roll into a gorgeous napkin ring!
First, we take a toilet paper roll and just glue felt onto it.
We cut it, obviously, and then glue felt on it, and then we just put it aside while we make the bow to attach to it.
Then we’ll take the Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half and lay it down into the Bowdabra, actually, the Mini Bowdabra.
And then what I’m going to do is take a little piece of silver ribbon, it’s a wired ribbon, and again, you can use any color you like, especially if you are decorating for a special occasion with a color scheme.
I just kind of thought this would be fun to use this silver, as I was thinking that it could be used for weddings or even a #newyears celebration.
And I’m just going to lay this into the mini bowdabra.
I love this bow because it’s also a great way to use up your scrap ribbon.
I’ve already dovetailed the ends.
And to dovetail, basically all you’re going to do is fold your ribbon or your lace in half and cut towards the fold at the diagonal.
And now i’ll just lay this down into my Mini Bowdabra.
And then i have this really cute strand of silver beads, and i’m just going to kind of make a bow, back and forth.
Really easy – you just fold it back and forth.
And then I’ll take my wand and scrunch everything down into my Mini Bowdabra.
Then I’ll take my loop, put the two ends through it and pull it so it’s like a slipknot.
I’m going ot separate the ends and bring them to the back of my bow and tie it off.
So I’ll just knot the ends here.
And then take my scissors and cut it tight into my bow.
And just sort of shape my bow.
And then i’m going to take my toilet paper roll that’s covered in felt, take my glue gun and put a little spot there and glue this on here.
And just take my napkin and pull it through the paper towel roll.
Maybe I didn’t roll it up small enough.
And you have a really, really pretty napkin holder.
