Watch Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra create colorful and vibrant spiky cheetah hair bow for spring and summer.
“Okay, I’m going to make a really cute little spiky ponytail bow. So I’m going to fold my Bowdabra bow wire in half and lay this down into my Bowdabra, and then just tucking the ends underneath to keep them out of my way. Then what I’m going to do is I have a green tulle and a pink tulle, and I’m just going to layer them and scrunch these down into my Bowdabra.
And then I’m going to take a piece of my green bow brain, which I’ve already dovetailed the ends, and put that down in here. In order to seal the ends, what I did—now I’m taking my tulle and scrunching this in. What I did to seal the ends of all of the ribbon is that I just used a lighter and just sealed the ends with my lighter.
Now I’m going to take my pink cheetah pattern ribbon and I’m just going to scrunch the middle to do a mountain up crease, which will give it a really pretty crease that we use for all of our hair bows so we don’t have to sew. And then I’ll take some more green tulle and scrunch that down into my Bowdabra.
And I’m just going to take my wand and kind of scrunch everything down here. And then I’m going to take my green cheetah and I’m going to do the same thing. I’m going to fold it in half and then do my mountain up. By just scrunching, or folding, in the middle, and then putting that down into my Bowdabra.
Then again, I’m going to take my Bowdabra wand and I’ll take my bow wire, and I’m just going to thread the two ends through the loop, hold my bow down and pull it really tight. Pull it out of the Bowdabra. Separate the ends. And what I love about the Bowdabra is you’re never fumbling with your ribbon except finding the hole in the scrunch.
Okay. So now here, I’m just going to take the ends, tie a know, and I’m going to knot it again. Then I’ll just take my little scrunchy and tie the bow onto the scrunchy and knot it. I’ll cut the ends and then we have a really cute little spiky ponytail holder.”
