For Easter, create an adorable Easter bunny hair bow barrette with bunny ears and tail for that special little girl to wear!
Gather the following:
Mini Bowdabra, Wire and Wand
Bowdabra Hair Bow Tool and Ruler
Ribbon
Scissors
Felt
Pom Pom
Barrette
Begin by cutting a 15″ piece of Bowdabra bow wire and fold in half. Place into the Mini Bowdabra with a loop on one end and two loose pieces on the other end and wrap under.
Cut a 13″ piece of 1 1/2″ wide ribbon. Seal the ends with clear nail polish or flame heat.
Crease the end of the ribbon and place into the Mini Bowdabra.
Make another crease at the other end of the ribbon and loop above the Mini Bowdabra tower and insert.
Using the Hair Bow Tooland Ruler as a guide, position the ribbon loops evenly and make a crease in the center of the ribbon.
Scrunch down the ribbon with the Mini Bowdabra Wand.
While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop at the other end and pull tightly, gently pulling the bow out. Separate the two loose ends of the bow wire and take them around to the back of the bow tie and knot. Cut off excess.
For the bunny ears, cut out two ear shapes about 2 3/4″ long for the outer ears (white) and two smaller inner ears (pink) in felt.
Glue the inner pieces on top of the outer ears.
To line the barrette, cut a piece of 3/8″ wide ribbon the length of the barrette wrapped around. Heat seal the ends. Remove the center tension piece from the barrette.
Starting on the inside of the barrette, push the ribbon under the prong on the end and glue on with a dab of glue. Run a bead of glue the length of the barrette and smooth down the ribbon all the way around, tucking the ribbon under the other prong by the barrette closing hatch.
Add glue to the top of the barrette and continue smoothing on the ribbon around to where you began.
Replace the tension piece in the barrette.
Pinch the bottom of each ear together with glue. Dab more hot glue on and press each ear to the back of the bow tie. Run a bead of glue along the top of the barrette and glue it onto the back of the ears and bow.
And finally, glue on a pom pom for the tail to the front center of the Bowdabra Bow Tie.
How cute is this Easter bunny hair bow!!!!
