Holiday Ribbon and Bow Hostess Gift

The holiday season is packed with parties and dinners but that doesn’t mean you have to break the bank buying hostess gifts. Show your appreciation and heartfelt thanks by making a gift that’s handcrafted by you!
And if you’re looking for something different and unique why not make this lovely holiday ribbon and bow hostess gift that you can put different types of goodies in, like candles, candy or personal items?
To get started, gather the following materials:

Mini Bowdabra, wire and wand
Decorative ribbons
Cardboard
Scissors
Glass candle holder
Fabri-Tac fabric glue

Begin by cutting five 10″ pieces of ribbon and gluing the ends together at a slight angle using Fabri-Tac glue for quick and clear drying adhesion.

Next, arrange the ribbon loops in a five-loop pattern, as shown, and glue together.

Using a glass votive as a guide for size, trace a circle on a piece of white cardboard, and cut out.

Glue the cardboard circle on the inside center of the loops.

Turn the glass votive upside down and lay the ribbon loops on top.

Grasp the sides of the loops around the glass and glue on a ribbon strip at the base. Allow to dry completely.

To make the decorative bow:
Cut a 12″ piece of Bowdabra wire, fold together and insert into the Mini Bowdabra, tucking ends under.

Cut off 10 inches of matching ribbon, bring the ends together forming loops on both sides. Grasp the center and place into the Mini Bowdabra.

Scrunch the bow down with the Bowdabra wand.  While the bow is still in the Bowdabra, push the two loose ends of the Bowdabra bow wire through the loop at the other end. Pull the bow wire tightly while the bow is still in the Bowdabra.

Gently pull the bow out of the Bowdabra separating the wire and wrapping it to the back of the bow, tying in a knot. Cut off excess wire.

Glue the Bowdabra bow on the center between two of the ribbon loops. Add a battery powered candle to the glass votive,

or splurge with something very elegant and fabulous!

What a lovely, unique gift made of ribbon and Bowdabra bow any hostess will surely love!
