Wedding Table Decor Using Bows

Wedding table decor

Decorating with bows is an easy and inexpensive way to add elegance and romance to your wedding table décor. Bows can accent centerpieces, candles, flatware pockets, favors, vases, and so much more. And using a Bowdabra to make these adorable bows makes it even simpler.

Let’s start by making a couple of decorative bow pockets to house flatware, favors or a simple flower sprig for your wedding table décor.

You will need:

Mini Bowdabra
Bowdabra bow wire
Grosgrain 7/8″ ribbon (white)
Grosgrain 5/8″ ribbon (black)
Decorative specialty paper, 8″ square
Embellishments
Scissors
Double sided adhesive tape
Hot glue

First we’ll make a mini bow using your Mini Bowdabra.   Here, I am alternating between showing how to make both the black and white bows used.

Fold an 18″ piece of bow wire in half and place it into the Bowdabra, tucking the ends under.

Cut a 4″ piece of ribbon, cutting ends at a 45 degree angle and center the tails in the Bowdabra.   All cuts can be sealed with clear nail polish or fray check.

Cut a small piece of ribbon 4 inches long, bring ends together, making a loop, squeeze together and insert into Bowdabra.

If you want to add embellishments  insert into the Bowdabra.

Scrunch down the ribbon and embellishments with the Bowdabra wand.

Take the loose ends of the bow wire and push it through the wire loop, pulling the bow wire tightly while the bow is still in the Bowdabra.

Take the bow out of the Bowdabra and bring the separate loose ends around to the back and tie into a knot.  Cut off excess wires.

Next, it’s time to make the flatware pockets so we can glue on the Mini Bowdabra bows.

For a more decorative look, I glued together two different paper patterns, but you can use double faced paper.

Cut out a 8″ x 8″ square.

Fold in half, making sure to have crisp edges.

Next fold left side end to center, and then right side to center.

Place double sided tape on each side, and press together.

Fold loose side pieces on the diagonal, left and right.

Make sure both folded sides are nice and crisp.

Turn over to what will be the front.

Using scissors, cut a slit in center of top paper layer.

Fold down corner edges.  Looks like a cute little blouse or shirt!

Now, glue on your Mini Bowdabra ribbons and embellishments.

And arrange your wedding table décor .  .  .

So simple, easy and elegant for any wedding table décor!
