As winter draws to a close, here in the northeast we start to have “warm winter wishes”! I found inspiration for my card looking through some old books. I loved the image of a couple ice-skating on the cover of a book, published in 1897. I pencil sketched the image and layered it on a handmade card.
Paper Craft Supplies:
Coordinating Cardstock
Stickers or Markers
Pencils
Tacky Glue, Glue Stick, and Adhesive
1/8” Ribbon
Floral Accents
Mini Bowdabra
Hair Bow Tool & Ruler
Optional: Tracing Paper & Light Box
Instructions:
1. Begin by finding an image to fit your card. Use either images from the Internet or books around your home. Either pencil sketch your image or using tracing paper and a light box to transfer your image.
2. Gather the coordinating cardstock you will need to make your card, along with the card saying.
3. Begin to assemble the card. Attach 1/8” ribbon to the card front. Hold the ribbon in place with adhesive on the back.
4. To make the small bow for the card ”“ Place the Hair Bow Tool & Ruler onto the Mini Bowdabra. Cut 10” of 1/8” ribbon and place it into the Mini Bowdabra.
5. Place the end of the ribbon into the Mini Bowdabra at the .5” mark.
6. Fold and press the ribbon at the 1” mark to make the first loop.
7. Make a matching loop on the other side.
8. Continue making loops use the Mini Bowdabra Wand to hold the loops down.
9. Trim the ribbon from the spool and leave a 1” tail.
10. Add floral accents and press them into the Mini Bowdabra with the Mini Bowdabra Wand. Keeping the wand in place tie the 1/8” ribbon to hold the bow together.
11. Pull the ribbon tightly.
12. Remove the bow from the Mini Bowdabra and tie it one more time to keep the bow held together tightly.
13. Trim the ribbon to make two more tails.
14. Glue the bow to the ribbon on the front of the card.
15. Finish assembling the card.
16. Your warm winter wishes card is complete.
