I know that it is only July and it is hard to think of Christmas….BUT…if you are like me and love to make
You can personalize a Christmas Stocking with ribbons and bows and transform a boring stocking into a glam stocking!
I first began by designing my stocking size and then cutting a template. I also created a heel and toe template. I then placed the stocking template over two pieces of green felt and cut out the pattern. I also cut the heel and toe pieces using red felt. Then I set the back stocking piece of green felt aside and sewed the heel and toe to the front of the stocking. The great thing about working with felt is that it doesn’t fray so it makes it super easy to work with!
Next, I sewed white grosgrain ribbon and red with white stitching bobbin ribbon to the front of the stocking. I then sewed the front and the back of the stocking together and added a ruffled ribbon top and a loop for hanging the stocking.
Then using the Mini Bowdabra and Hair Bow Tool & Ruler I created a bow that could be pinned onto the front of my handmade felt stocking. Using the Interactive CD that comes with the Hair Bow Tool & Ruler I created a 6 loop basic bow, stacked with a ribbon spray, and small little basic bow. Then with my Bowdabra Bow Wire I attached the bow to a pin and then hot glued a finishing ribbon around it to cover the Bowdabra Bow Wire.
Lastly, I added the holiday bow to my stocking along with some accents and gems stones.
